Responsibilities

  • Develop and benchmark scene matching and geo-registration pipelines for challenging illumination, viewpoint, seasonal, and sensor conditions.
  • Build and evaluate SLAM, visual odometry, and structure-from-motion systems for deployable platforms.
  • Research and adapt geometric deep learning, feature matching, local feature descriptor, and learned place-recognition methods.
  • Develop computer vision models and pipelines and evaluate them through rigorous experiments and real-world benchmarks.
  • Adapt AI systems to downstream hardware, compute constraints, and operational requirements.
  • Integrate localisation and reconstruction outputs into navigation and decision-making pipelines with product and deployment teams.
  • Collaborate across research, engineering, product, and downstream deployment teams on new capabilities and roadmaps.

Requirements

  • MSc in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience developing localisation, scene matching, or 3D reconstruction systems beyond benchmark evaluation.
  • Deep familiarity with geometric computer vision and deep learning, including learned feature matching, place recognition, visual SLAM, visual-inertial odometry, neural radiance fields, domain adaptation, or model compression.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python and experience deploying AI software to production, including testing, QA, and monitoring.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to present research findings internally and externally.
  • Passion for current research and reimplementing or extending state-of-the-art approaches in geometric deep learning, SLAM, and 3D vision.
  • Preferred: PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field with publications in top-tier venues such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, IROS, or ECCV.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering end-to-end AI systems on constrained edge devices.
  • Preferred: Experience with simulators, emulators, synthetic data generation pipelines, Rust, or C++.

Benefits

  • Relocation support with temporary accommodation.
  • Annual learning allowance.
  • Gym membership and mental health support through Nilo.health.
  • Regular company events and monthly social allowances.
  • Enhanced paid parental leave.
  • Paid family emergency leave, 100% remote work during pregnancy, and phased return to work.
