Responsibilities
- Define and enforce camera, mounting, calibration, and episode-quality specifications for human-video data capture.
- Own hand-pose ground truth and address occlusion, work gloves, and warehouse-specific measurement challenges.
- Build the evaluation harness and quality gates that determine whether collected footage is suitable for training.
- Post-train open robot-learning models on the collected data and run initial task evaluations.
- Read and reproduce relevant published work and use the results to guide data-capture investment decisions.
- Serve as the primary machine-learning decision-maker on a small team and document decisions based on pilot data.
Requirements
- Experience with PyTorch and computer vision involving real 3D geometry.
- Knowledge of camera calibration, pose estimation, and SLAM fundamentals, including debugging extrinsic calibration.
- Ability to read and reproduce published research claims.
- Familiarity with robot-learning stacks and policy classes sufficient to specify training-data requirements.
- Experience training on self-collected data and diagnosing dataset failure modes.
- Particularly relevant experience includes hand-pose estimation or egocentric video in production, multi-camera rigs and time synchronization, post-training robot-learning models, or ROS 2.
- No publication record is required; the role is focused on applied corpus creation and policy training.
