Responsibilities
- Improve internal automation using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Maintain and add features to the infrastructure control plane.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues during an on-call rotation of approximately one week per month supporting a 24/7/365 SLA.
- Plan and implement improvements to the security posture, reliability, performance, and cost of hosted resources.
- Collaborate with product development teams on application deployment and operational direction.
- Support customer environments in partnership with support and integration teams.
- Develop technical knowledge in site reliability, security, automation, networking, and system operations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Unix command-line interfaces, shell utilities, text editors, Git, and system administration tools.
- Extensive experience deploying highly available web application platforms using AWS resources.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code, configuring and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines, and deploying containerized resources.
- Experience applying security tools, controls, and policies.
- Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache, SQS, Route 53, ELB, and Lambda.
- Knowledge of DNS, CDNs, load balancers, web and application servers, databases including MySQL, TCP/UDP, RFC 1918 subnets, NAT, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, contemporary web frameworks, Node.js, and Go.
- Applicants must include developer test source code with their application.
