Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems.
- Develop reliable APIs and services for lending and credit products.
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases and data models.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and production issues.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Build systems with strong availability, fault tolerance, security, and data consistency.
- Improve observability, monitoring, and operational reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, Risk, and Engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development experience.
- Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and scalable backend applications.
- Experience in lending, credit, fintech, payments, or a closely related financial domain.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with service-oriented or microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and data structures.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern development and deployment practices.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production software development.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with credit decisioning, loan management, repayment, risk systems, event-driven architectures, messaging systems, asynchronous processing, high-volume transactional systems, observability tools, performance monitoring, or engineering mentorship.
