Base Salary
$150k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-agent orchestration for complex healthcare advocacy workflows with guardrails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Build RAG and medical knowledge systems over patient records, disease knowledge bases, and community-sourced data.
- Develop reliable, auditable, permission-scoped tool integrations for browser automation, phone calls, form filling, document generation, and healthcare APIs.
- Build conversation intelligence systems including long-term memory, conversation state, personalization, and proactive information surfacing.
- Create evaluation and testing infrastructure for agent workflows, hallucination detection, medical accuracy, and model regression testing.
- Design prompt architectures, evaluate and integrate models, and optimize inference cost, capability, and latency.
- Collaborate with Product, Platform Engineering, clinical advisors, and the CTO to ship production systems used by patients.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building LLM-powered applications in production.
- Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or equivalent.
- Experience designing and implementing RAG systems, including chunking, embedding models, vector databases, retrieval evaluation, and hybrid search.
- Demonstrated experience building AI systems that take real-world actions through tool use, function calling, browser automation, or API orchestration.
- Strong production software engineering fundamentals, including testing, logging, error handling, and clear abstractions.
- Experience evaluating and testing LLM systems, measuring hallucination rates, and designing regression suites for non-deterministic outputs.
- Experience working effectively in a startup or early-stage environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining agent architecture and debugging prompt chains.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, life sciences, regulated domains, HIPAA compliance, or clinical data handling.
- Preferred familiarity with multi-agent architectures, WhatsApp Business API or messaging platforms, conversational AI at scale, inference cost optimization, FHIR, HL7, CDA, voice AI, telephony APIs, Playwright, Puppeteer, or open-source AI/LLM tooling.
