Responsibilities
- Architect enterprise-ready AI/ML solutions spanning model-training pipelines, inference services, feature stores, data ingestion, and MLOps frameworks.
- Define technical roadmaps, architectures, workstreams, and implementation plans for complex mission needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide direction on algorithms, model selection, data strategy, integration, and delivery.
- Oversee sprint planning and technical execution, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery of enterprise-quality engineering artifacts.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with government stakeholders and explain architecture decisions, model behavior, risk tradeoffs, and solution options.
- Establish best practices for ML engineering, DevSecOps, coding standards, test automation, and model lifecycle governance.
- Conduct technical reviews, mentor engineers, and guide evaluation and adoption of advanced ML tools and platforms.
- Integrate AI capabilities into cloud-native or hybrid architectures while meeting security, accreditation, and enterprise data management requirements.
- Prepare solution briefs, architecture diagrams, CONOPS, and decision-ready artifacts for government review panels.
- Champion responsible AI and governance principles aligned with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense directives.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance are required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 14 years of progressive experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or advanced analytics is required.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying enterprise AI/ML systems is required.
- Deep proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX is required.
- Experience leading technical teams, conducting architecture trade studies, and guiding full ML lifecycle development is required.
- Strong knowledge of secure software engineering, distributed systems, DevSecOps, and containerization is required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior government stakeholders are required.
- Experience supporting government, defense, or intelligence AI/ML projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community mission needs and data types is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-native development using AWS, Azure, or GovCloud is preferred.
- Experience building or supporting NLP, computer vision, generative AI, or anomaly detection models is preferred.
- Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, container orchestration, or distributed training frameworks is preferred.
