Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable, flexible, and high-performance backend systems and services.
  • Own the team’s microservices and services, including their performance and scaling.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and prioritize work based on customer impact.
  • Advocate for development best practices and make technical decisions within the team.
  • Support compliance officers and analysts with enhanced tooling, analytics, and regulatory reporting.
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to interviewing, onboarding, and other recruitment efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of software development experience using two or more server-side programming languages.
  • Java experience is required.
  • Experience with microservices, highly scalable distributed systems, and batch-processing pipelines focused on data integrity.
  • Experience with multiple data storage technologies, including MySQL, Hadoop, and Cassandra.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing paradigms.
  • Experience defining and upholding SLOs/KPIs and participating in architecture reviews.
  • Experience addressing authentication and authorization security challenges.
  • Experience working on products with a large customer base and company-wide impact.
  • AWS experience, including DynamoDB, RDS, Step Functions, EC2, and Kinesis, is a plus.
  • Experience with regulation or compliance policies and payments or FinTech is a plus.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams is a plus.
