Responsibilities
- Embed with internal teams to map workflows and identify high-leverage automation opportunities.
- Build and ship production agentic AI systems for CX, finance, operations, logistics, and engineering teams.
- Develop AI-powered tooling for issue triage, reconciliation, exception handling, reporting, dashboards, alerting, and operational data access.
- Create end-to-end workflow automation pipelines and reusable automation modules.
- Integrate OMS, WMS, TMS, billing, and other internal systems through APIs and event streams.
- Build internal developer productivity tools, lightweight APIs, and agentic workflows that help engineers write, review, and ship code faster.
- Develop internal data products, automated reporting, alerting, dashboards, and self-service data interfaces.
- Instrument production agents with logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting, retries, and edge-case handling.
- Embed with teams, validate solutions with domain experts, iterate quickly, and collaborate with Product Engineering when core platform systems are affected.
- Document and publish reusable engineering and automation patterns.
Requirements
- 3+ years of production backend experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Production experience building AI agents that automate real workflows, not just prototypes or demos.
- Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or an equivalent CLI-native AI-assisted development environment as a primary development tool.
- Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent LLM systems, including tool use, structured outputs, prompt engineering, and error handling.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs from scratch and integrating complex internal systems.
- Production observability experience, including logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling and meaningful query development.
- Ability to identify valuable problems, propose solutions, and drive work to completion with minimal direction.
- Experience building reliable production systems with attention to failure modes, monitoring, and operational concerns.
- Strong communication, ownership, accountability, collaboration, learning agility, and technical judgment.
- Preferred experience automating operational or back-office workflows in areas such as finance, support, logistics, or HR.
- Preferred familiarity with Elixir/Phoenix, Kafka, TypeScript, and GCP.
- Preferred experience with vector databases, semantic search, internal developer tools or platforms, and Python.
- Nice-to-have experience with early-stage startups, hackathons, open source, logistics or supply chain, and workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Prefect, or Airflow.
