Responsibilities
- Own services end to end from design and development through testing, operations, and production monitoring.
- Create and maintain REST APIs using Java/Spring, React customer-facing dashboards, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Design and scale distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and strong performance.
- Lead solutions from conception through delivery while collaborating with product owners and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Use AI assistants for code generation, design exploration, debugging, and documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvements to the engineering process, platform reliability, and technical architecture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building web services in a modern programming language, with Java strongly preferred and C# or Go also accepted.
- Experience building and deploying cloud applications, preferably on AWS.
- Understanding of network protocols, HTTP, and REST API design.
- Experience designing and working with distributed systems, relational and non-relational databases, scale, performance optimization, fault tolerance, and test automation.
- Active use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude across the software development lifecycle.
- A 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes AWS ECS, EKS, API Gateway, S3, SQS, Lambda, Aurora, React, Kafka, ActiveMQ, and agentic coding frameworks such as Strands.
