Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the architecture of a high-load Data Quality Platform processing millions of checks per day.
- Improve throughput, latency, reliability, orchestration, scheduling, dependency resolution, retries, and mutation-driven reruns.
- Profile and optimize PostgreSQL-heavy production workloads, including workloads reaching approximately 4,000 RPS.
- Lead the migration of statistics and analytical workloads from PostgreSQL to ClickHouse.
- Build features for data-quality coverage, table lineage, incident lifecycle, and operational investigation.
- Contribute to platform UI features when required for end-to-end product capabilities.
- Own production behavior and reliability of backend services through metrics, logs, tracing, incident investigation, and performance analysis.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and prevent recurrence of production issues.
- Improve the reliability and usability of data-quality integrations, configuration, and check operations.
- Collaborate with data producers, infrastructure teams, and business teams to identify and deliver production-ready improvements.
Requirements
- Strong Ruby and Rails development skills.
- Strong experience developing and operating high-load production systems.
- Deep PostgreSQL expertise, including query planning, profiling, indexes, locking, transactions, concurrency, connection behavior, and performance tuning under sustained load.
- Strong SQL skills and experience investigating complex data discrepancies across large, multi-source datasets.
- Experience with asynchronous systems, background jobs, queues, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
- Experience designing complex backend systems from scratch and evolving them safely in production.
- Hands-on production ownership covering metrics, logs, tracing, incident investigation, and performance analysis.
- Practical experience using AI-powered developer tools for codebase navigation, prototyping, debugging, reviewing, and delivery, with critical validation of results.
- Product mindset and entrepreneurial ownership, including identifying opportunities, validating solutions with users or data, and driving delivery.
- Intermediate or higher English proficiency (B1+).
- Familiarity with ClickHouse is a plus.
- Familiarity with Delta Lake, Trino, Spark, or DuckDB is a plus.
- Experience with Debezium or another CDC implementation, Kafka, and data ingestion and transformation patterns is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus/Grafana, and production service operations is a plus.
- Experience building side projects, launching product capabilities, or independently improving products is a plus.
