Responsibilities
- Develop backend services, APIs, orchestration workflows, automation runbooks, and platform components for cloud operations and fleet management.
- Work on features and platform improvements from technical design through production delivery.
- Implement unit, integration, and workflow tests and evaluate reliability, scalability, performance, idempotency, and failure handling.
- Debug and troubleshoot development and production issues, including distributed-system operational problems.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts for owned components and workflows.
- Participate in operational support, incident response, postmortems, corrective actions, and on-call responsibilities where applicable.
- Apply secure coding practices for authentication, authorization, secrets, customer data, and privileged operational actions.
- Create and maintain design documents, architecture decisions, runbooks, operational procedures, API documentation, and implementation notes.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, SRE, product management, and dependent platform teams.
- Contribute to automation, deployment safety, developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and platform reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus two years of related software engineering experience, or master’s degree plus zero years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic knowledge of software engineering principles, data structures, APIs, distributed systems, testing practices, and modern software development.
- Experience with or exposure to at least one general-purpose language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, APIs, CI/CD, or infrastructure automation concepts.
- Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, automated testing, and code review practices.
- Preferred qualifications include backend service, API, automation platform, or distributed-systems development experience.
- Preferred experience includes Python, Go, Kubernetes, AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing, queues, event-driven systems, REST APIs, secure secrets management, observability, production support, incident response, and large-fleet automation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, product management, and dependent service teams are preferred.
