Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Platform Orchestrator and Fleet Orchestrator services, automation workflows, APIs, integrations, and supporting platform components.
- Design and implement distributed, event-driven, scalable, reliable, observable, and secure cloud orchestration solutions.
- Work on features and platform improvements from technical design through production delivery.
- Write maintainable code and unit, integration, and workflow tests, and participate in code reviews.
- Debug software and automation issues, troubleshoot distributed production systems, and analyze operational incidents.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerts, and other observability capabilities.
- Participate in operational support, on-call responsibilities, incident response, postmortems, and corrective actions.
- Create and maintain design documents, architecture decisions, runbooks, operational procedures, API documentation, and implementation notes.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, SRE, product management, and dependent platform teams to resolve problems and dependencies.
- Improve automation, CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, deployment safety, developer experience, and platform reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related software engineering experience, or master’s degree plus 0 years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic knowledge of software engineering principles, data structures, APIs, distributed systems, testing practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Experience with or exposure to a general-purpose programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, APIs, CI/CD, or infrastructure automation concepts.
- Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, automated testing, and code review practices.
- Preferred qualifications include backend services, API, automation platform, distributed systems, workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing, queues, event-driven systems, infrastructure-as-code, and large-fleet automation experience.
- Preferred qualifications include Python, Go, Kubernetes, AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, REST APIs, authentication and authorization, service accounts, secure secrets management, observability, incident response, and on-call experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, product management, and dependent service teams.
