Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver long-term-impact software within existing system architecture.
- Maintain the technology stack and debug and fix issues.
- Collaborate with product management, architects, user experience, documentation, and engineering teams to build features, reusable components, and products.
- Build, analyze, and optimize backend services primarily in Python and Go for simplicity, efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Contribute to React-based user interfaces and reusable front-end components when appropriate.
- Develop understanding of existing code and make improvements with sound judgment and guidance.
- Contribute to software development practices involving testing, observability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Strong motivation to learn, improve technical skills, and grow as a software engineer.
- Knowledge of Python, Go, or another modern programming language, with willingness to develop Python and Go skills.
- Hands-on experience with React or another modern front-end framework is beneficial.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, unit, functional, and integration testing.
- Problem-solving, collaboration, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker is preferred.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and interest in API design choices is preferred.
