Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, document, debug, and ship software features under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Develop API-first, service-oriented applications following established architecture and coding standards.
  • Integrate LLMs and AI APIs into product workflows to build AI-powered features.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, quality, and test coverage.
  • Write and maintain software using Java, Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
  • Use MongoDB and other databases for data modeling, storage, and retrieval.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and system design discussions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into working software.
  • Apply secure coding practices and support observability and monitoring for delivered features.
  • Continuously learn and apply relevant tools, frameworks, and AI/ML techniques.

Requirements

  • Approximately 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships and co-op experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Basic understanding of API design and RESTful services.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or relational databases.
  • Familiarity with or strong interest in AI tools and LLM-based development, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
  • Understanding of data structures, version control, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience with or academic exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred experience includes building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features through school, internships, or personal projects.
  • Preferred exposure includes prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, AWS, Azure, GCP, CI/CD, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
  • A portfolio, GitHub profile, or personal projects demonstrating initiative and coding ability is preferred.
