- Port and tune sensors and control algorithms across the Betaflight and PX4 flight stacks.
- Build vehicle-side datalink and payload integrations for new platform variants.
- Instrument vehicles, conduct bench and flight-test iterations, and debug issues that reproduce only in flight.
- Write unit and integration tests for firmware and partner with the Test organization on SITL, HITL, and flight-test execution.
Requirements
- Strong embedded C experience on resource-constrained microcontrollers, including firmware shipped on real hardware in the field.
- Hands-on experience with a flight stack such as PX4 or Betaflight on vehicles that actually flew.
- Working knowledge of control loops, filtering, and sensor-based state estimation using IMU, barometer, and GPS data.
- Experience debugging hardware-coupled problems that reproduce on the bench or in flight.
- Ability to own ambiguous problems end to end with light direction.

- Preferred experience with datalink, tunneling, or networking protocols on embedded systems.
- Preferred experience with Betaflight internals, including modes, RC/mixer paths, or maintaining a fork.
- Counter-UAS, radar-guided, or interceptor-adjacent systems exposure or interest is preferred.
- Estimation experience with EKF, complementary filters, or sensor fusion is preferred.
- PX4 ecosystem experience, including MAVLink, uORB, EKF2, offboard or companion-computer integration, and QGroundControl tooling, is preferred.
