Responsibilities
- Operate production, pre-production, and other cloud infrastructure while maintaining system availability, performance, capacity, and continuity.
- Participate in on-call rotations, monitor Slack channels and monitoring alerts and dashboards, and resolve requests within defined SLAs.
- Analyze observability data and take proactive actions to improve the stability and performance of cloud environments.
- Create, upgrade, deploy, and support cloud environments while following change management, security compliance, and incident management procedures.
- Maintain and improve cloud operations playbooks, runbooks, guides, monitors, backups, and business continuity procedures.
- Build and manage Kubernetes cluster environments and support containerized microservices.
- Collaborate with global Cloud Operations, Product Development, Engineering teams, employees, customers, and partners.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with configuration management, DevOps, release management, continuous integration and deployment, and container-based service platforms.
- Experience administering Linux and Windows systems, scripting tools, enterprise web applications, and databases at a system administration level.
- Experience with public cloud environments, preferably AWS, and tools including Terraform, Git, Ansible, Packer, and Jenkins.
- Preferred: 8 or more years as a DevOps Engineer focused on operations and production operations in medium- to large-scale environments.
- Preferred: experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters, supporting Kubernetes-hosted microservices, and using monitoring systems such as Datadog.
- Preferred: experience with Linux shell scripting, Python, and Java or similar web application environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, cross-functional collaboration ability, learning agility, organization, and prioritization skills.
