Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services for BitGo’s API-first platform.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment and customer integration.
- Expose and document functionality for user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and evaluate new technologies to improve development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous engineering improvement.
- Work with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand and refine product requirements.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and education on engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend and server-side development experience.
- Strong algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity-analysis skills.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and working with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with unit and functional testing, debugging, Git, GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university.
- Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
- Preferred: experience developing consumer-facing crypto products and public-facing production APIs.
- Preferred: ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React.
- Preferred: experience working with clients or business partners and familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
Benefits
- Full-time onsite work at BitGo’s Toronto office.
- CAD 180,000–220,000 base salary depending on leveling and location.
