Base Salary
$191k - $334k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical vision and architecture strategy for the authorization platform.
- Develop and maintain core authorization frameworks that validate identity and access across the platform.
- Own features from design through delivery and translate business requirements into cross-team technical solutions.
- Lead design and code reviews while promoting access-control best practices, performance, maintainability, and testability.
- Build extensible software that customers and applications can customize.
- Define functional, regression, integration, and performance testing strategies.
- Diagnose complex production issues and develop root-cause and mitigation plans.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across the organization.
Requirements
- Experience with authorization technologies such as RBAC, ABAC, policy engines, or related technologies.
- Demonstrated success completing complex cross-team projects with quality and on-time delivery.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues including memory leaks, concurrency issues, caching issues, network problems, and intermittent failures.
- A track record of technical leadership and influencing architecture across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including design documents, RFCs, and technical strategy presentations.
- 12+ years of software development experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with a master’s degree, 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization at scale.
- Expert understanding of object-oriented and modularized software practices, especially Java and Golang.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, or TestNG and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of software quality, reliability, observability, and production readiness.
- Experience considering or integrating AI into engineering work and operational workflows.
- Prior ServiceNow Platform or authorization-framework experience is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes-based services in regulated environments with compliance and governance requirements is preferred.

- Base pay is listed at $190,900-$334,100, plus equity when applicable, variable or incentive compensation, and benefits.
