Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Develop and execute automated UI, API, backend, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end tests.
- Advocate for shift-left quality practices throughout the software lifecycle and collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts.
- Participate in requirements analysis, test strategy, test planning, risk assessment, test estimation, and release validation.
- Validate REST APIs, backend services, databases, microservices, logs, and test data through automated and manual testing.
- Perform performance and load testing using JMeter or BlazeMeter, analyze bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with quality gates, reporting, and continuous feedback.
- Manage test environments and test data for reliable and repeatable execution.
- Perform defect analysis, root cause analysis, and production issue investigations.
- Use AI-powered engineering tools such as Claude to accelerate test design, automation development, defect analysis, and framework maintenance.
- Continuously improve automation coverage, framework stability, execution efficiency, and quality engineering practices.
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in Quality Engineering with strong test automation expertise.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript and with designing scalable automation frameworks.
- Experience with API automation, REST APIs, Postman, and API testing frameworks.
- Experience with backend testing, SQL, databases, log validation, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- Hands-on performance testing experience using JMeter or BlazeMeter.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and git-based collaborative workflows.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, system testing, end-to-end testing, test strategy, risk-based testing, test planning, and quality metrics.
- Experience with defect management, root cause analysis, release quality validation, test data management, environment management, and quality governance.
- Experience using AI-assisted testing tools; Claude Code is preferred.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor and coach team members and work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, contract testing, service virtualization, accessibility testing, security testing, monitoring, observability, enterprise SaaS, or publishing/content management platforms.
- Nice-to-have ISTQB, Playwright, AWS Fundamentals, or Performance Testing certification.
- Candidates must have the right to work and live in India and reside within commuting distance of the Bengaluru office.
