Responsibilities
- Bring up, configure, maintain, and debug the Linux kernel, including device trees, drivers, and security patches.
- Customize and maintain the Android build, including system services, permissions, boot sequence, and OTA updates.
- Integrate controls, display, touch, battery, and radio modules and expose them to the application layer.
- Ensure reliable, low-latency SBUS and MAVLink data flows between controllers, radios, and drones.
- Debug hardware and software issues with electronics and mechanical engineers using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, UART, and JTAG.
- Define flashing, provisioning, factory test, and release procedures with the production team.
- Collaborate with QGroundControl engineers and QA to validate behavior on real hardware.
- Participate in field tests and flight sessions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong command of the Linux kernel, including configuration, device trees, drivers, and debugging.
- Strong C programming skills; C++ experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience customizing AOSP, including HALs, system services, and the build system.
- Working knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, USB, display, and touch controllers.
- Exposure to drones or robotics, including MAVLink, PX4, or ArduPilot, is preferred.
- Professional English for technical documentation and international collaboration.
- Hands-on, autonomous, pragmatic, and curious approach to hardware and rapid learning.
