Responsibilities
- Design firmware architectures for mixed real-time and control workloads in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Develop low-level drivers for peripherals, sensors, RF modules, and power-management ICs.
- Implement and debug SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, and RF link protocols.
- Build deterministic real-time control loops and manage interrupts, timing, and scheduling.
- Partner with hardware engineers on board bring-up and debug systems using laboratory instrumentation and JTAG/SWD tools.
- Own firmware maturity from prototype through production, including unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and automated test benches.
- Develop secure bootloaders and reliable OTA firmware update mechanisms.
- Collaborate with mission application and mechanical engineering teams on telemetry, command, control, integration, thermal, and shielding requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
- 2 to 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, spanning junior to senior levels.
- Proven experience taking at least one complete embedded product from prototype through mass production.
- Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and strong foundations in bare-metal and RTOS development on MCUs, typically ARM Cortex-M.
- Deep understanding of MCU peripherals, SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, and hands-on use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated firmware testing methodologies.
- Bonus: experience with drone, UAV, remote-control, radio communication, RF link, wireless protocol, ruggedized, military, or industrial-grade firmware.
- Bonus: professional familiarity with Rust.
Benefits
- Fast-paced, high-autonomy environment with minimal bureaucracy and a direct feedback loop between design and field deployment.
