Responsibilities
- Drive the integration and release process for Apple software serving millions of users.
- Develop tools and applications to automate manual work and improve engineering and quality-team productivity.
- Improve continuous integration systems, release workflows, branching strategies, and configuration management.
- Deploy, configure, and manage servers and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project management teams to coordinate releases and communicate system status.
- Define or drive data structures, APIs, or persistence layers for communication features.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in release engineering, configuration management, or software engineering, including DevOps, SRE, SDET, SWE, or build engineering.
- Expertise with source-control systems, preferably Git, including release engineering, branching strategies, pull requests, and Git workflows.
- Expertise with scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or JavaScript.
- Experience working with Unix, terminal, command-line, and Bash environments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technical environments and resolve sophisticated problems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with engineering and project management teams.
- Preferred: experience proposing process improvements and communicating system status automatically and efficiently.
- Preferred: expertise in configuration management for deploying, configuring, and managing servers and systems.
- Preferred: experience with SQL and non-relational databases.
- Preferred: expertise with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.
- Preferred: familiarity with highly scalable distributed systems, parallel workflows, and microservices.
