Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend integrations with payment processors, ERP platforms, and financial infrastructure providers across Latin America.
- Architect scalable, secure, and observable services that reliably handle sensitive financial data.
- Build and own frontend interfaces including internal tooling, integration dashboards, and configuration UIs.
- Use AI tools to automate repetitive engineering workflows and accelerate design, coding, review, debugging, and documentation.
- Contribute architectural input, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate integration requirements into maintainable solutions.
- Identify and address technical debt that creates operational risk or slows the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience, including 1–2 years working across the full stack.
- Strong software architecture and system design skills, including experience building scalable systems that fail gracefully.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages; Clara’s primary backend stack is Java and Spring Boot.
- Good frontend knowledge in at least one frontend language or framework; Clara’s frontend stack is React.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools throughout the development process, with experience using tools such as Claude, Devin, or n8n preferred or expected.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Metabase, Databricks, SQL, Python, fintech, payments, banking integrations, or credit infrastructure.
