Responsibilities
- Coordinate collaborative engineering efforts across multiple teams and align decisions with strategic plans.
- Prevent redundant work by hardening existing assets for broad reuse.
- Solve Harness’s most difficult technical problems involving modern software delivery and distributed systems.
- Lead technical initiatives, resource planning, project mapping, success criteria, and roadmap execution.
- Mentor engineers, champion continuous improvement, and promote innovation across the organization.
- Interface with senior engineering leadership, present to executives, and provide visibility into project deliverables and planning.
- Gather escalations, remove blockers, broker solutions with cross-functional leadership, and enable project teams.
- Represent projects with external customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Participate in architecture and hiring committees and advise leadership on resourcing and efficiency.
Requirements
- 12+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Deep hands-on expertise in modern software delivery or building complex distributed systems.
- Advanced experience with Java, Golang, or comparable programming languages.
- Depth of experience in distributed systems.
- Advanced Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
