Responsibilities
- Develop real-time embedded software and firmware for next-generation controller products.
- Participate in all software development phases from product definition through production release.
- Design and develop multi-threaded and multi-process real-time software under VxWorks or other commercial RTOS environments.
- Debug and analyze performance of complex real-time systems using development, tracing, memory-analysis, and RTOS debugging tools.
- Implement, integrate, and validate industrial communication protocol stacks for embedded firmware and control applications.
- Perform embedded board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and system troubleshooting using laboratory and hardware-debugging tools.
- Read and interpret hardware schematics, processor datasheets, memory maps, and peripheral specifications.
- Collaborate with global Scrum teams and cross-functional hardware, firmware, systems, test, and product engineering teams.
- Contribute through pair programming, code reviews, root-cause analysis, and technical solution implementation.
- Build, test, and support reliable, high-performance, safety-critical products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4–6 years of experience in embedded software or firmware development on Intel x86 and ARM-based processors or controllers.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for high-performance, reliable, and safety-critical embedded software.
- Experience developing real-time embedded software with multi-threaded and multi-process architectures under VxWorks or another commercial RTOS.
- Expertise debugging and analyzing complex real-time systems using Wind River Workbench, GDB, JTAG debuggers, trace tools, memory analyzers, and RTOS debugging utilities.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and DNP3, plus TCP/IP and UDP networking.
- Understanding of cybersecurity considerations for industrial control systems.
- Experience with embedded board bring-up, hardware-software integration, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and JTAG or boundary-scan tools.
- Experience with software development lifecycle practices, continuous integration and deployment, and version control systems including Git or SVN.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, firmware development for Xilinx Ultrascale SOC, and scripting languages such as Python.
