Responsibilities
- Own and evolve complex, business-critical data products from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Design and integrate scalable services, APIs, and data models for human and AI-system consumption.
- Build, consume, and evolve batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Apply AI tools across the software development lifecycle to support requirements clarification, design exploration, coding, testing, and operational reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, data, and business stakeholders on cross-team designs and trade-offs.
- Lead technical workstreams that improve simplicity, performance, reliability, or developer productivity.
- Mentor earlier-career engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience owning data products and delivering significant end-to-end services or products within a domain.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java or Scala, along with strong computer science fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience working with batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Preferred experience designing reliable, scalable cloud systems and contributing to service boundaries, resilience, and operational practices.
- Preferred experience using AI tools and techniques in everyday software engineering work and applying sound human-review judgment.
- Preferred experience developing frameworks for AI-driven coding agents, including MCP and spec-driven development methodologies.
- Preferred experience defining AI governance practices and working with Spark, Kafka, Flink, Cassandra, Scylla, and Iceberg.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and lead technical workstreams spanning multiple teams.
