Responsibilities
- Build simple, intuitive web experiences for purchasing insurance across devices and platforms.
- Create customer-facing capabilities for documenting property damage and improving the claims process.
- Design rating engines that calculate insurance policy costs.
- Combine property intelligence APIs to identify flood, fire, and vandalism risks.
- Deploy production code quickly and iteratively develop solutions with the team.
- Contribute to a service-oriented, event-driven application stack and participate in product and user-experience decisions.
Requirements
- Previous experience building web applications and service-oriented architecture.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex codebase without extensive ramp-up time.
- Product-oriented engineering approach with thoughtful opinions about user experience and willingness to shape solutions without fully specified requirements.
- Pragmatic judgment balancing speed, quality, impact, delivery, and the use of off-the-shelf versus custom solutions.
- Ability and willingness to learn the team's languages and frameworks; prior experience with the stated stack is not required.
- Past team-lead experience is a plus.
