Base Salary
$170k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain Python libraries supporting investment research production processes.
- Design and create software for the data science technology stack.
- Design and implement financial data APIs and numerical APIs.
- Apply cloud and distributed computing technologies.
- Implement performance improvements in data analysis and numerical programming code.
- Run proofs of concept to evaluate technologies and libraries in the PyData ecosystem.
- Work with software engineers to design feeds for new third-party data sources.
- Propose and lead implementations of major research data platform components or features.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior team members on design and coding standards.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Developer or in a related role.
- Expert programming skills in Python and experience implementing production-grade Python code.
- Experience with object-oriented programming paradigms, data structures, and numerical algorithms.
- Experience with RDBMS, S3, columnar databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Spark, Dask, or HPC for distributed computing.
- Understanding of or interest in probability and statistics, including linear regression and time-series analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience or familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Unix/Linux system tools, unit testing, continuous integration, DevOps, containerization, interactive data visualization, or dashboards is valuable.
- Interest in financial markets is welcomed but prior financial experience is not required.
