Base Salary

$170k - $325k/yr

Responsibilities

Write and maintain Python libraries supporting investment research production processes.
Design and create software for the data science technology stack.
Design and implement financial data APIs and numerical APIs.
Apply cloud and distributed computing technologies.
Implement performance improvements in data analysis and numerical programming code.
Run proofs of concept to evaluate technologies and libraries in the PyData ecosystem.
Work with software engineers to design feeds for new third-party data sources.
Propose and lead implementations of major research data platform components or features.
Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior team members on design and coding standards.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science.
At least 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Developer or in a related role.
Expert programming skills in Python and experience implementing production-grade Python code.
Experience with object-oriented programming paradigms, data structures, and numerical algorithms.
Experience with RDBMS, S3, columnar databases, and NoSQL databases.
Experience with Spark, Dask, or HPC for distributed computing.
Understanding of or interest in probability and statistics, including linear regression and time-series analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience or familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Unix/Linux system tools, unit testing, continuous integration, DevOps, containerization, interactive data visualization, or dashboards is valuable.
Interest in financial markets is welcomed but prior financial experience is not required.

Base salary range of $170,000–$325,000 per year.
