Responsibilities
- Architect, design, build, and scale the core capabilities of a Kubernetes-native data product.
- Design scalable distributed systems and lead architecture decisions across services, APIs, and data layers using Java.
- Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency microservices and event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka.
- Develop and optimize data processing pipelines using Apache Spark or similar technologies.
- Implement fault tolerance, retries, circuit breakers, logging, metrics, and tracing to ensure system reliability.
- Optimize CPU, memory, I/O, and database query performance.
- Drive code quality, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams and contribute to frontend technologies including JavaScript and React.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong backend focus.
- Deep expertise in Java and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of concurrency and asynchronous processing.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, PostgreSQL or MySQL, and caching systems such as Redis.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures on Amazon Web Services.
- Strong understanding of API design, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Experience with frontend technologies including JavaScript and React.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills.
- Kubernetes experience is a bonus.
- Experience with big data systems or Hadoop components is a bonus.
