Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement scalable APIs, services, cloud-native applications, and accessibility-first user interfaces.
- Deliver AI-native features across front-end and back-end systems for carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning.
- Evolve the platform into modular, event-driven, API-first components and make architectural trade-offs involving scalability, performance, maintainability, and product impact.
- Own application reliability and operational excellence, including telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous service improvement.
- Champion application-level DevOps practices, deployment automation, monitoring, and operations in collaboration with Platform Engineers.
- Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to technical standards and team development.
- Own code quality, documentation, automated testing, security, performance, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering, and other engineering teams on product discovery, delivery, and technical decisions.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve platform architecture and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong full stack software engineering experience across front-end and back-end development.
- Experience with React or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- Strong back-end engineering experience, ideally with GoLang or comparable general-purpose programming languages.
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs, services, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, deployment, monitoring, automation, and incident response practices.
- Experience delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software.
- Strong focus on code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability.
- Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions.
- Effective collaboration across Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams, with ownership from design through production.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; event-driven architectures, distributed systems, or microservices; and relational databases such as PostgreSQL is desirable.
- Experience in cross-functional product teams, mentoring engineers, or contributing to engineering standards is desirable.
- Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting, or enterprise SaaS products is desirable.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as GHG Protocol, CSRD, and SBTi, and with observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management is desirable.
