Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement, and maintain backend services for security features across B2B and B2C products.
- Build capabilities for identity, authentication, access control, threat prevention, and other security-sensitive user journeys.
- Partner with Product and Security teams to translate security requirements and risk assessments into product features.
- Contribute to threat modeling, security reviews, incident follow-ups, and remediation plans.
- Improve resilience against account abuse, privilege misuse, insecure integrations, and identity-related vulnerabilities.
- Participate in architecture discussions and make trade-offs among security, usability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Write tested, maintainable code and operate production services with appropriate observability.
- Collaborate with Web and Client engineers, Product Managers, Product designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Professional experience as a backend software engineer delivering production systems in a SaaS or comparable cloud-based environment.
- Strong experience building features that protect users and improve product security.
- Solid understanding of application security best practices, secure design principles, and threat modeling.
- Experience collaborating with a CISO, Security team, or equivalent security stakeholders.
- Proficiency in backend development with modern languages and frameworks, ideally Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience designing APIs, integrating external systems, and operating services in production.
- Strong curiosity about security topics, good communication skills, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Fluency in English.
- Preferred qualifications include strong cryptography knowledge; familiarity with Passkeys, SAML, OAuth, SCIM, or comparable identity and access management protocols; enterprise security feature development; authentication hardening; account recovery, access governance, fraud or abuse prevention; passwordless authentication; identity lifecycle management; security reviews; and consumer- and business-scale product experience.
