Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship native Android features in Kotlin.
- Build and evolve Jetpack Compose interfaces while migrating legacy RecyclerView and XML components.
- Implement secure authentication and session flows using MSAL, Azure AD B2C, biometrics, and passkeys.
- Integrate REST and JSON APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp with resilient loading, error, retry, empty-state, and multi-region routing support.
- Contribute to real-time chat and video experiences using SignalR, WebSockets, and Azure Communication Services.
- Apply Android architecture using Hilt dependency injection, ViewModels, repositories, use cases, and feature packages.
- Write unit and UI tests and maintain reviewable pull requests meeting quality and coverage standards.
- Support Gradle flavors, signing, Play Console uploads, post-release crash analysis, and log triage.
- Apply secure mobile practices for tokens, secrets, permissions, local data, logging, and privacy.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, QA, and security partners to deliver supportable releases.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience shipping production Android applications.
- Strong Kotlin and Android SDK fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience building production interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with coroutines, Flow, lifecycle-aware Android architecture, Jetpack components, ViewModel, Navigation, and Gradle-based Android Studio projects.
- Experience integrating REST and JSON APIs and troubleshooting authentication, token refresh, and unreliable network conditions.
- Experience with unit testing and Android UI testing.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, code review, and continuous integration.
- Practical understanding of mobile security, including secure handling of tokens, secrets, permissions, and local data.
- Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to take features from ambiguity through supportable release.
- Preferred experience with MSAL, Azure AD B2C, OAuth/OIDC, passkeys, WebAuthn, enterprise identity providers, Hilt, Dagger, SignalR, WebSockets, Azure Communication Services, WebRTC, multi-environment builds, Play App Signing, staged rollouts, Crashlytics, structured logging, incident triage, cybersecurity products, accessibility, internationalization, feature flags, design systems, NDK, or C++.
