Responsibilities
- Design and implement reliable, high-performance mobile application features for millions of Ring customers.
- Build extensible and well-architected mobile components for customer-facing experiences.
- Collaborate with cloud services, firmware, design, product, and other cross-functional teams to develop robust mobile solutions.
- Drive mobile engineering excellence through architecture, testing strategies, and development practices.
- Influence mobile platform architecture and future product capabilities through technical decision-making.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain a high-quality customer experience.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience building mobile applications.
- At least 3 years of native iOS development using Swift or Objective-C, native Android development using Kotlin or Java, or production React Native or comparable cross-platform development with knowledge of native platforms.
- Understanding of mobile app lifecycle, memory and performance, networking, persistence, and testing.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools for coding, test generation, code review, or debugging in production.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
- Working knowledge of both iOS and Android, or experience bridging React Native with native modules, is preferred.
- Experience with strict reliability, latency, or correctness requirements, real-time or push-based services, and mobile performance profiling is preferred.
