Base Salary
$125k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
- Create applications that improve SpaceX operations.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
- Analyze user problems and create efficient solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Work extended hours or weekends when required by launch cadence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience.
- Preferred experience with Python, C#/.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- Preferred 1+ year of rigorous single-page web application development experience.
- Preferred expertise in software system design, application profiling, and performance improvement.
- Preferred experience designing and deploying agentic AI systems, including LLM prompting, context retrieval, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Preferred production experience with Docker.
- Preferred frontend experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
- Preferred database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
- Must meet applicable ITAR authorization requirements.
