Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain versioned REST and gRPC APIs for bare-metal server lifecycle, MachineType definitions, and cluster CRUD operations.
- Develop asynchronous workflows for server enrollment, inspection, operating-system provisioning, and Kubernetes cluster bring-up.
- Implement consoles and interfaces that visualize hardware inventory, provisioning progress, and cluster health.
- Design error-handling models, idempotency guarantees, and reconciliation loops for reliable long-running infrastructure operations.
- Own the lifecycle of infrastructure services from Server and MachineType APIs through provisioning workflows and hardware-state reconciliation.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs or gRPC services, including API versioning and gateway patterns.
- Proficiency in Go, preferably in backend or Kubernetes ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes primitives and controller/reconciler patterns.
- Experience with k0rdent, Metal3, and Cluster API or comparable infrastructure orchestration systems.
- Hands-on experience with bare-metal provisioning flows, including BMC/Redfish, PXE/iPXE, image management, and hardware inspection.
- Experience building workflow-driven or event-driven asynchronous systems such as Temporal, where long-running operations remain consistent across retries and failures.
- Preferred experience building informers or reconciliation bridges that synchronize external datastores with Kubernetes resource state.
- Preferred experience building multi-tenant platforms with strict data and network isolation.
- Familiarity with Terraform or OpenTofu and GitOps-driven configuration using ArgoCD or Flux.
- Familiarity with GPU server hardware, DPUs/NICs, and high-performance datacenter fabrics.
