
AWS Platform Engineering – Assistant Vice President (AVP)
State StreetResponsibilities
- Lead application onboarding to AWS while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards, security controls, infrastructure-as-code practices, and operational best practices.
- Design, architect, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions and support on-premises application migrations to AWS.
- Operate and maintain enterprise CI/CD platforms, including pipeline configurations, build agents or runners, artifact repositories, deployment frameworks, and release automation services.
- Troubleshoot build, deployment, and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve platform resilience and reliability.
- Develop self-service capabilities, reusable platform components, and automation that improve developer experience and software delivery.
- Monitor application health, platform performance, and capacity while establishing reliability metrics, service health monitoring, incident management, and post-incident reviews.
- Evaluate AI-assisted engineering and Agentic AI solutions for platform operations, onboarding, troubleshooting, documentation, observability, and workflow automation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, lead small project teams, coordinate cross-functional platform initiatives, and create technical documentation and training materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in AWS, cloud platform engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering in enterprise environments.
- Experience leading small engineering teams, technical initiatives, or cross-functional projects.
- Strong expertise in AWS core services, CI/CD platforms and tools, infrastructure as code, cloud-native architecture, observability, and AWS networking.
- Experience onboarding and supporting large-scale enterprise applications on AWS and migrating on-premises applications to public cloud platforms.
- Experience integrating third-party vendor applications and SaaS solutions into enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience implementing platform engineering, developer self-service, and internal developer platform practices.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Advanced Networking Specialty are preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools, Agentic AI capabilities, and automation frameworks is preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
