Responsibilities
- Build and deliver high-performance services and products using globally collected real-time sports data.
- Design and operate distributed systems in production, including ownership from architecture decisions through post-incident reviews.
- Take independent ownership of complex engineering initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and provide direct, constructive technical reviews.
- Apply testing strategy, CI/CD, and quality-focused engineering practices.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate difficult decisions clearly.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Java expertise.
- Ability to design and deliver distributed systems in production and understand operational requirements.
- Experience independently owning complex initiatives from architecture through post-incident reviews.
- Natural mentoring ability and experience performing useful technical reviews.
- Deep understanding of testing strategy, CI/CD, and engineering excellence.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Engineering leadership skills and the ability to serve as a role model.
- Experience with AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, and microservices at scale is a strong advantage.
