Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own end-to-end Access Request features spanning UI, backend services, validation, database persistence, and workflow execution.
- Write production-grade code using Java, Groovy on Grails, GSP, SQL/HQL, and React.
- Debug and permanently resolve complex production issues involving request forms, dynamic attributes, workflow routing, entitlement selection, and high-volume submissions.
- Act as the technical expert for the Request Framework, ARS tasks, dynamic field logic, entitlement selection, and the access request lifecycle.
- Improve test automation, performance, observability, scalability, modularity, and maintainability.
- Lead architecture reviews and implementation of enhancements, including legacy re-platforming and architectural migrations.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Support, QA, DevOps, Field Engineering, and other engineering teams to triage customer issues and deliver fixes.
- Improve build pipelines, deployment strategies, service resilience, and automated validation.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, pairing, and technical leadership.
Requirements
- 15+ years of full-stack, hands-on software development experience building and maintaining complex enterprise applications.
- Expert Groovy on Grails experience, including GSP templating, dynamic form rendering, controller and service customization, and modernization of legacy Grails codebases.
- Strong experience with Access Request Platforms, Dynamic Attribute engines, entitlement resolution, workflow engines, request and approval orchestration, task orchestration, and multi-application provisioning.
- Deep understanding of Saviynt or comparable identity governance platforms such as SailPoint, Oracle, or ForgeRock, including role-based access control, birthright access, and fine-grained entitlement management.
- Proficiency with Grails, Groovy, GSP, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Quartz Scheduler.
- Experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, and AJAX-based dynamic form handling.
- Strong SQL and HQL skills, including query optimization across large datasets and high-transaction tables.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and building service-layer abstractions for access operations.
- Experience troubleshooting complex form validation, dynamic attribute dependencies, approval flows, entitlement mismatches, request errors, high-volume processing, exclusions, and data-partitioning bottlenecks.
- Understanding of frontend-backend coupling in Grails/GSP environments and modular refactoring strategies.
- Familiarity with Kibana, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Postman, and in-application telemetry.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes; Kubernetes is noted as nice to have.
- Ability to set up pipelines, write deployment scripts, and automate validation steps.
- Track record of delivering clean, maintainable, testable code and leading re-platforming or architectural migration efforts.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, customer interaction, and cross-functional troubleshooting skills.
