Base Salary
$112k - $168k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, publish, version, and maintain single-click applications for the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
- Develop backend services with Node/TypeScript and PHP and frontend applications with React.
- Integrate applications with BigCommerce REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and OAuth flows.
- Build scalable, performant, maintainable, and multi-tenant software with appropriate test coverage.
- Monitor production health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve merchant-impacting bugs.
- Contribute to merchant data migration projects, including scripting, validation, and cutover.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product managers, solutions architects, services teams, clients, and partners.
- Translate merchant requirements into technical designs and move across concurrent projects and unfamiliar codebases.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of programming principles and the ability to write maintainable code.
- Hands-on experience with Node/TypeScript and/or PHP on the backend and React and Next.js on the frontend.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and services, including REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and OAuth.
- Understanding of multi-tenant performance, data isolation, and upgrade considerations.
- Ability to context-switch across projects, learn unfamiliar codebases, collaborate effectively, and explain technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, or completion of a comprehensive software engineering boot camp.
- Preferred experience with ecommerce platforms, BigCommerce APIs, or marketplace/app-store distribution models.
