Base Salary
$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operational availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts
- Improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality and ownership through writing and technical talks
- Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example
- Contribute to backend, web, and mobile interfaces for authentication, verification, and fraud journeys
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs
- Ability to make significant changes safely in a large codebase using appropriate tools and practices
- Strong ownership, feedback-seeking, verbal communication, and written communication skills
