Base Salary
$173k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction and architecture for the AI/ML platform, including compliance, security, performance, and reliability standards.
- Architect in-house and cloud-native ML infrastructure and scalable solutions for large-scale data processing.
- Define how models and ML pipelines are monitored, maintained, optimized, and operated in production.
- Design secure cross-border data pipelines and establish platform standards for engineering teams.
- Define API strategy and interfaces supporting front-end applications and customer-facing products.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape Customer Experience features.
- Drive process improvements, automation, data-delivery optimization, and infrastructure scalability initiatives.
- Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and raise engineering quality across the AI Platform organization.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and respond to high-severity issues affecting internal platforms and customer-facing production systems.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of production software development experience using Python, Java, or Scala, including technical design leadership beyond a single team.
- Deep experience designing and operating microservices at scale.
- Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes and setting standards for Kubernetes-based deployments in regulated environments.
- Experience with distributed systems including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
- Experience with relational SQL and Postgres.
- Track record of driving technical decisions across multiple teams and mentoring senior engineers.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, and SageMaker.
- Preferred: AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty or Solutions Architect certification.
- Preferred: experience with TensorFlow Serving, TensorRT, Triton, KServe, Airflow, Kubeflow, Django, Spring, NoSQL databases, and Elasticsearch.
- Preferred: experience defining platform strategy, technical roadmaps, or engineering standards.
