Responsibilities
- Analyze browser extension code using static and dynamic analysis to identify security violations and malicious behavior.
- Perform code reverse engineering and debugging focused on JavaScript-based front-end technologies.
- Review source code to determine actual behavior versus declared functionality.
- Identify, document, and report vulnerabilities with affected code areas and remediation recommendations.
- Support investigations and takedowns of malicious browser extensions.
- Audit internal review and detection tools for gaps or flaws.
- Define detection rules and patterns for identifying security violations at scale.
- Recommend and contribute to process improvements and automation.
- Provide technical guidance and input to team members.
- Conduct secure code reviews and collaborate on technical documentation and cross-functional work.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on JavaScript experience, including closures, prototypes, variable scope, hoisting, callbacks, and object-oriented principles.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
- Solid code review experience with the ability to assess software behavior and intent.
- Experience with database queries such as SQL.
- Strong analytical, investigative, creative, and critical-thinking skills.
- Knowledge of web application and cybersecurity fundamentals, vulnerability assessment, and remediation is advantageous.
- Experience with browser extensions, cybersecurity tools such as Burp Suite or Nmap, malware behavior, DAST, SAST, obfuscation, and de-obfuscation is advantageous.
- Experience with Node.js, Webpack, React, Angular, or jQuery is advantageous.
- Strong technical and security assessment report-writing experience is advantageous.
