Responsibilities
- Ensure the availability, stability, performance, and operational readiness of more than 40 mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and preventative remediation activities.
- Support application recovery, failover, disaster recovery, business continuity, critical processing schedules, and service-level commitments.
- Support application deployments, releases, vendor upgrades, monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational tooling.
- Drive automation, resiliency, continuous improvement, audit, risk, compliance, and operational control initiatives.
- Collaborate with globally distributed Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, Database, Network, Security, and Product teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–8 years of experience supporting enterprise applications in complex production environments.
- Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including reliability, observability, automation, and incident prevention.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale distributed applications in production and working with cloud technologies and modern infrastructure platforms.
- Understanding of messaging, middleware, and integration technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, and IIB or similar.
- Exposure to container platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Kafka and event-driven architecture experience, mainframe exposure including JCL and batch processing, Python or other scripting experience, financial services or capital markets experience, AI-driven automation initiatives, and enterprise integration or distributed processing experience.
