Responsibilities
- Design, build, release, and operate production mobile features for smart thermostats, energy programs, and grid resiliency.
- Contribute across native iOS and Android development to improve delivery and team throughput.
- Evolve mobile architecture for scale, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Own features end to end from technical design and implementation through release and iteration.
- Monitor, debug, and respond to incidents involving production mobile software.
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, data, and firmware partners.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and influence mobile technical direction.
- Use and promote AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and reduce regressions.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience building and shipping production mobile applications.
- Deep expertise in iOS or Android with strong proficiency and willingness to contribute meaningfully on the other platform.
- Strong understanding of mobile lifecycle, performance, debugging, observability, and tooling.
- Experience with modern mobile architectures and asynchronous programming.
- Experience owning features in a large production codebase while balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and user impact.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives and collaborating across disciplines.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or similar in development workflows.
- Ability to critically assess and validate AI-generated output through tests, reviews, and incremental rollout.
- Preferred experience with IoT, connected devices, energy-related products, connectivity constraints, device variability, or latency.
