Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain new features and enhancements for the SONiC network operating system platform.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in platform system software and related areas.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, QA/test teams, and other cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Lead documentation initiatives and contribute to product-development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electronics, telecommunications engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Experience in networking and system software development.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming, object-oriented analysis and design, data structures, and system debugging.
- Thorough knowledge of Linux or a similar operating system and the ability to debug complex system-level issues.
- Deep understanding of hardware and system-level design for carrier-class software development.
- Proficiency with Linux device drivers, system bring-up, and the Linux kernel.
- Experience with large codebases is preferred.
- Expertise in scripting technologies and techniques and familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices.
- Background in networking and embedded platform-software development is preferred.
- Understanding of host complexes, system peripherals and drivers, Ethernet interfaces, MacSec, timing, optics, network processors, PHYs, or SerDes is required in one or more areas.
