Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operational availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
- Design and build a reliability platform that helps teams understand, debug, and improve production service health.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Practical experience using LLMs or AI frameworks to improve automation and guidance with guardrails and citations.
- Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases and establish supporting tools and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
