Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define requirements and translate them into system designs and technical solutions.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve extensible software components and applications.
- Lead design reviews and code reviews while driving coding standards, quality metrics, and reusable implementation practices.
- Create test plans, identify test gaps, execute testing, and proactively address defects.
- Debug software, troubleshoot complex issues, analyze monitoring data, and participate in on-call incident response.
- Build and enhance developer tools and identify automation opportunities across products and programs.
- Contribute to project estimation, escalate delivery risks, and communicate component interactions.
- Evaluate and integrate AI/ML and GenAI solutions, including RAG, semantic search, conversational AI, and agentic workflows.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in software engineering, web-based or mobile application development, software systems, debugging, troubleshooting, code review, testing, and developer tools.
- Experience in a leadership role, with or without direct reports, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Practical exposure to AI/ML or GenAI solutions, including assessing use cases, integration approaches, limitations, risks, and production readiness.
- Preferred experience includes high-volume and highly available consumer- or client-facing platforms, public cloud platforms, managed AI services, RAG, semantic search, conversational AI, agentic workflows, model evaluation, AI observability, privacy controls, and mentoring engineers.
- Advanced Java proficiency and strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, databases, SQL, NoSQL, caching, and messaging platforms.
- Experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, state management, accessibility, and secure REST API integration.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, API security, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, JUnit, Mockito, automated integration testing, and code-quality tools.
- Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, model APIs, AI agents, evaluation, responsible AI, and frameworks such as Spring AI, LangChain4j, or LangChain.
