Base Salary
$110k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Modernize payment-platform capabilities across North America and Latin America & the Caribbean.
- Design, develop, test, and support applications, APIs, workflow automations, internal tools, and platform services.
- Develop Java and Spring Boot services using AWS microservices, cloud-native architectures, APIs, and event-driven designs.
- Build cloud-native data solutions with PostgreSQL, Aurora, and DynamoDB, plus distributed caching with Redis, Valkey, or ElastiCache.
- Collaborate with product, operations, architecture, risk, compliance, QA, and customer-care teams from requirements through production deployment.
- Implement telemetry, monitoring, and observability capabilities and review AI-generated code for security, quality, compliance, and engineering standards.
- Participate in code and architecture reviews, contribute reusable components and engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience applying security, reliability, scalability, observability, and operational-excellence practices.
- At least 4 years of experience developing cloud-native applications and microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- At least 3 years of experience developing solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms.
- At least 1 year of experience with event-driven architectures, cloud databases including PostgreSQL, Aurora, and DynamoDB, and distributed caching technologies including Redis, Valkey, and ElastiCache.
- Experience with application modernization, cloud migration, or legacy transformation initiatives.
- At least 1 year of experience in Agile software development environments.
- Preferred experience includes containerization, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, infrastructure automation, distributed systems, AI coding agents, RESTful APIs, Kafka or similar messaging platforms, payments or other high-volume transaction processing, multi-region platforms, and cloud security.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure software development practices is preferred; Spanish proficiency is also preferred.
