Base Salary
$159k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead real-time data streaming and processing architecture for a nationwide sensor detection platform.
- Assess Azure Event Hubs and Azure Databricks and advise on stream-processing frameworks for high-velocity data.
- Design and develop stateful, low-latency distributed stream-processing applications with sub-second sensor-message deduplication.
- Design and implement a schema registry and event-driven data modeling strategy for sensor telemetry pipelines.
- Establish data lineage, metadata management, auditability, and technical data governance within the streaming architecture.
- Operationalize and deploy real-time machine learning models such as anomaly detection and predictive tracking in stream-processing pipelines.
- Develop fault-tolerant telemetry consumption patterns supporting zero data loss and end-to-end sensor-to-UI latency.
- Partner with DevSecOps to ensure compliance with CJIS, FIPS 140-3, and FedRAMP High standards.
- Collaborate with geospatial data engineering and backend teams on in-stream anonymization and feeds to real-time UIs and spatial databases.
- Provide architecture reviews, hands-on guidance, and mentorship to junior and mid-level team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of some contracts.
- Expertise in distributed systems, real-time streaming, stateful stream processing, and high-velocity data pipelines.
- Ability to design data governance, schema registry, event-driven data modeling, lineage, metadata, and auditability solutions.
- Experience deploying real-time machine learning models into streaming pipelines.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant systems with zero data loss and low end-to-end latency.
- Ability to work across engineering, product, compliance, infrastructure, Data Science, geospatial data engineering, backend, and DevSecOps teams.
