Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for areas of responsibility, including technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Build and maintain highly scalable microservice systems.
- Drive integrations with risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Lead the technical delivery of large-scale, organizationally complex projects.
- Identify and solve impactful problems within the team and across teams.
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals and improve verification processes.
- Mentor engineers, share best practices, and contribute to technical excellence across the organization.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience with Java 8+, the Spring framework, asynchronous message queues, and highly scalable microservices.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ and architecting scalable systems.
- Strong product mindset with interest in customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions on complex and ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code and rigorous code reviews.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery for large-scale, organizationally complex projects.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.
- Ability to anticipate and escalate organizational blockers.
