Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for assigned areas, including technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security improvements.
- Design and implement scalable Java backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Integrate risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical delivery of large-scale, organizationally complex projects and cross-team initiatives.
- Identify and solve impactful problems across the team and wider organization.
- Define solutions and operational processes that improve verification systems and team effectiveness.
- Mentor engineers and share technical best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Java 8+, Spring, asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and highly scalable microservices.
- Strong product mindset and passion for customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code, rigorous code reviews, and strong engineering practices.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery of large-scale, organizationally complex projects and manage organizational blockers.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, advanced query optimization, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.
